![]() After 6 months of registrations, TIC Americas 2012 closed up with 1829 participating teams, made up of 4044 young and talented entrepreneurs from 33 countries of the world. Colombia, Peru, Argentina, México, Ecuador, Chile and Bolivia are orderly outlined as the countries that had more projects registered. Some countries of Europe, Asia and Africa have also stood out. During the following four weeks those projects that fulfilled the requirements established for each of the award categories, will be evaluated by a group of international judges, composed by more than 350 professionals, experts in different areas, approaches and sciences, coming from the private, academic and government sector. The projects classified as finalists will travel to Cartagena, Colombia, to compete in the Finals of TIC Americas 2012, which will be held in parallel to the III Young Americas Forum, both previous activities to the VI Summit of the Americas. The finalist teams will be announced in February 17th 2012. When the registrations closed, Mr. Roy Thomasson, YABT Chair Board of Directors expressed: "We are very glad and proud to see that, year after year, TIC Americas is becoming a platform of opportunities, which is recognized among young people, not only from the continent, but from all over the world.
