The Young Americas Business Trust Who We Are The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) is a non-profit corporation recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) (3) organization. It is affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS), and aims to advance the goals of the OAS and Presidential Summits of the Americas to create employment opportunities and reduce poverty by supporting and promoting youth entrepreneurship. YABT therefore addresses key challenges facing the Americas in the 21st Century. It is an organization primarily comprised of young people who work for young people in the Americas. It draws its energy of more than 150 enthusiastic young people who form its core staff and volunteers throughout the Americas. Where we are Being located at the General Secretariat of the OAS gives YABT a unique platform for private/public sector collaboration. The OAS provides substantial overhead and management support for YABT, which enables YABT to put more of its resources into fulfilling its mission instead of addressing administrative matters. Currently, YABT also has National YABTs and representatives in twenty-five countries in the Americas. What we do The YABT acts as a catalyst for young entrepreneurs in the Americas offering young people tools, skills, and networks to become successful business-persons and socially responsible leaders. YABT focuses on four priority areas:
Link young entrepreneurs and national associations in a regional communication and collaboration network. Courses and events prepare the next generation of business leaders to be socially conscious citizens of the community.
